2. How the Calvin Klein Brand Developed
The Eternity Fragrances range shot into the public domain for the first time in 1989 with the launch of Eternity Cologne. The CK brand image, which was first introduced onto the fashion world stage in 1968, claimed its rightful recognition with the stunning designer jeans campaign revelation, along with several other top fashion items that announced CK’s arrival on the fashion scene. The man himself was born in 1942, and as he grew he exhibited a rare flair for sketching and sewing. He went on to study at New York’s High School of Art and Design, followed by the famous Fashion Institute of Technology. With his friend Barry Schwartz, he began the CK brand, and the rest as they say is history.
Calvin Klein played a significant role in changing the fashion world’s perception of advertising with the much talked about and widely acclaimed and criticized jeans advertising campaign that starred Brooke Shields. The man who today brings us the wonderful range of Eternity Fragrances, has won many of worlds most prized fashion awards including the highly sought after “America’s Best Designer Award” which he carried off in 1983.
