Whether you or her started the problem, you need to explain your side for her to understand. But be careful not to put too much boldness on it that will make her feel that you, in a way, blame her for it. Explain to her in a most light way, admit whatever mistake you have committed, and be ready to give a sincere apology to a girlfriend.

Try not to point the blame on her. Show her how sorry you are for the things you said and did and how bad it made you feel. Showing her the humble you will surely make her want to ease the guilt you are bearing.
